A light when guidance matters most.
GentleTorch helps older adults and their families find trusted support for healthcare, housing, finances, and everyday decisions without the confusion, and without the risk.
Growing old shouldn't mean facing it alone
Every year, it gets a little harder for older adults to know who to trust. Healthcare paperwork, benefits systems, and financial decisions are more complicated than ever and scammers know it.
Americans aged 60 and older filed over 201,000 fraud complaints in 2025, reporting nearly $7.75 billion in losses — a 59% jump from the year before. The average loss for a senior victim was $38,500, and more than 12,000 lost over $100,000 each. These aren't naive victims — they're targeted, deliberately, by people who exploit trust and isolation.
And the risk isn't only financial. Roughly 28% of older adults in the U.S. — about 13.8 million people — live alone, and isolation on its own is linked to higher risks of decline in health and independence.
GentleTorch exists because no one should have to face any of this without someone in their corner — a real person, a vetted resource, a clear next step.

Why I Started
GentleTorch
I'm Amran Muhammad. GentleTorch started with my own family — watching my parents try to navigate healthcare decisions, benefits paperwork, and, more than once, a scam call that nearly worked. I saw how easily even a sharp, capable person could be worn down by systems that aren't built with them in mind.
I built GentleTorch so no other family has to figure it out alone the way we did — with real people, vetted resources, and a little more light in the moments that are hardest to navigate.
Guidance in your pocket.
The GentleTorch app puts trusted resources and real support one tap away — for you, or for someone you're caring for.
Help us reach more families.
GentleTorch is a nonprofit — every dollar helps us vet more resources, support more families, and keep this service free where it matters most
